Ongoing Production Log - entry 9
Today have finally finished by Music Magazine evaluation this was a long task as there was a lot of detail that I had to take into consideration but overall this task was not to difficult. I have been able to evaluate myself in a way that I haven't done before, so this was a new experince for me.

Music magazine Evaluation (What I have learnt)
Looking back to my preliminary task I can say that I have learnt a great deal during the creation of my Music Magazine. I have been able to test my skills and creativity as well as being able to actually create my very own music magazine. During this project I had also learnt a lot about the genre of rock, this had helped me to further develop my musical knowledge as well as being able to explore a different genre of music that I was previously not as very familiar with. I have also learnt a great deal of technical skills on Adobe Photoshop, for example in using the pen tool to cut my images instead of the magnetic lasso, the pen tool is more difficult to cut with than the magnetic lasso but on the other hand you have more control over what you want to cut, I have also be able to use the filter gallery which previously I didn't know how to use, I had found out that as I learnt more skills I became more independent in the way I worked, this allowed me to become more creative as I was confident that I had the skills and knowledge to use Photoshop effectively. During this project I had also learnt about various magazine terminology, for example the masthead being another word for the front cover magazine title which I had previously no knowledge on or a puff which is used to highlight specific text on a front cover which again I had no previously knowledge on . During the project I had gained that chance to develop that kind of terminology so i can pick up any random magazine and I will be able to point out specific language that i have now become familiar with due to me learning about that language during the course. Overall i have learnt a great deal from doing this project, i have been able to test my self in way that I had not been familiar with, I had greatly enjoyed this task.

Ongoing Production Log - entry 8
Today I have finished my Music Magazine; it was very good experience for me as I have not done a project like this before, this was very enjoyable as I was able to use the skills that I have learnt during the beginning of the start of this project. I have also uploaded another set of rough sketches for. I will now be working on my evaluation which will be submitted next week.

This week i have been working on finalizing my music magazine, this has proved to be a difficult task as have so busy that i have not been able to post in the last couple of days. I have also enjoyed working on this magazine as i have been able to show my creative skills in the form of a music magazine.

Ongoing Production Log - entry 6
I have been currently working on my music magazine front cover, contents page and double page spread, I have found this task very enjoyable as it has allowed me to be very creative in the way I design my magazine.
I have also been working on my magazine double page spread article, the main feature for my article will be an interview, for the article I have tried to use an engaging tone to make sure it will interest its audience. I have also taken some picture which will feature in my magazine. So overall I am finding this task very interesting as I have a chance to put my Photoshop skills to the test.

Today I have created the masthead for my music magazine;
I had to experiment for a few minutes to remind my self of how Photoshop works.
This was a very easy task as i have already had a rough idea of what my

Ongoing Production Log - entry 3
Today I have
completed my textual analysis for my contents page and my double page
spread, I found this task very straight forward
as I have done a similar task before when I had
to textually analyse 3 different music magazine cover pages
and also I had clear structure of what
exactly I needed to include so this task was not very difficult.

Ongoing Production Log - entry 2
Today I have finally complete my textual analysis of 3
different music magazines, this was a difficult task as I was not sure of what
elements of the magazine I should include within the magazine but with
help from previous task i have completed in task I was able to complete this
task. I have also managed to upload scan of my rough
draft of what I would like my magazine to look like.

Ongoing Production Log - entry 1
Recently I have been working on my textual analysis, I have been textual analysing 3 different music magazine
front covers of a similar genre and then analyse the effect of having each
feature. I will be using what I have learnt from this to further develop my
music magazine front cover. I have been having trouble figuring out what I
should include within my textual analysis as I am not really sure on what
aspects of the music magazine front cover I should be focusing. I had revised previous lesson on what I should
include during my textual analysis.

Music Magazine brief
We have been asked to create a front cover, contents page and a 2 page spread for a new music magazine. I intend to research my audience to create an accurate representation of the selected genre I have picked. After learning from preliminary task of what difficulties I would expect when coming to create my music magazine. I am now familiar with the software I will be using so I will be able to transfer the skill I have learnt creating the school magazine to when I create my music magazine. My plan is to create a rock genre magazine as it was the most popular choice of genre from my questionnaire.

Preliminary School Magazine
I was very pleased with how
my preliminary magazine turned out; creating the school magazine gave
me a chance to develop my skills in using Photoshop which will
help me when I go on to create my music magazine. I also gained a
large amount of knowledge about the use of different tools
within Photoshop which I will be able to capitalise later during
the course. This was a very enjoyable task as I was able to be very
creative in the creation of the school magazine as Photoshop enabled me to add
a vast amount of effects to the images I have used within the
magazine. At time I had found it hard to use certain tools,
for example the text tool proved very difficult to use at times as it created
new text boxes when I actually wanted
to highlight the existing text. But eventually I was able
to overcome this problem.

Preliminary Task Brief
I am going to create a school magazine front cover and
contents page for my preliminary task. I am doing so I gain the knowledge
needed to create my magazine. This also gives me a chance to get used to the
software I will be using through out this course. This will give me an advantage
during later parts of the course as I will have the knowledge to be able to
create the music magazine to the best of my ability. The skills I have learnt
during the preliminary task will help me in the future. This may not be my best
piece of work as it is my first project but I hope doing this well help me
improve in the long run.
